Darby is known for his ultra endurance challenges. The young aspiring school teacher pushes himself to the limit physically and mentally, all while raising money for mental health.

COOLANGATTA TO CRONULLA

Darby most recent challenge was a 900km run from Coolangatta to Cronulla. This was done in the middle of the Aussie summer, making the challenge incredibly more difficult. Darby covered 60km a day, running for up to 10 hours each day and arrived in Cronulla on the 10th of January. He was greeted by a huge crowd of support and a range of media coverage.

Darby’s run was much more than a journey of personal, physical and mental growth. He was able to inspire and meet so many incredible people, who shared their stories of running, mental health and moments where they pushed themselves to the limit. The journey started on the 27th of December in Coolangatta and by day 2, temperatures were in the 40s, which posed serious health risks early on.

Despite the heat, injuries, fatigue and mental endurance, Darby pushed through and arrrived in Cronulla in 15 days. This journey made Darby the youngest known multi day ultra runner. As he travelled, his story began to gain traction and started to inspire others. Darby’s efforts were able to raise over $40,000 dollars for mental health in aid of a charity called Find Ya Feet. As a studying school teacher, Darby wanted to see the funding go to workshops for youth mental health.

7 HALF MARATHONS IN 7 DAYS

In April 2024, Darby completed 7 half marathons in 7 days. This was the beginning of Darbys love for fundraising and pushing his limits. He raised $5,000 for mental health, which went to programs and workshops funded by the Chumpy Pullin Foundation.

Darbys love for seeking discomfort began with covering the 21km, everyday for 7 days.
